LTA has launched a trial that sends real-time audio and visual alerts through your vehicle's On-Board Unit (OBU) whenever you approach 8 key camera-enforced illegal parking hot spots.

1. Tampines Central 4 (near Tampines MRT)
2. Lorong Liput (Holland Village Market/Food Centre)
3. Sinaran Drive (Novena Square)
4. Yishun Central Service Road
5. Kramat Road (near Cuppage Plaza)
6. Upper Aljunied Road (near Jalan Mulia)
7. Tew Chew Street (near The Central)
8. Mount Elizabeth (near High Point)
Does Receiving An Alert = You've Been Fined?
No! LTA clarified that these are purely proximity reminders to prevent illegal waiting or parking. An alert does not mean you’ve incurred a fine—it's simply a prompt to keep traffic moving smoothly.
What Else Is Coming to Your OBU Display?
- School & Silver Zone Speed Limits: Future updates will display 40 km/h speed limit indicators alongside safety prompts.
- Bus Lane Hours: Active operational timing for nearby bus lanes will be displayed directly on your screen to prevent accidental lane incursions.
