Navigating Singapore's Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system doesn't have to be confusing! Here is everything you need to know in a quick 1-minute read:
- Active Days: Mondays to Saturdays.
- Active Hours: Generally 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM (varies by gantry/location).
- Free Entry: Sundays & Public Holidays are completely ERP-free! Operating hours also end early at 1:00 PM on the eves of major public holidays.
- Passenger Cars: Charges generally range from S$0.50 to S$6.00 per gantry pass depending on location and peak-hour traffic.
- Motorcycles: Usually pay lower rates (approx. half of passenger car charges).
- Dynamic Adjustments: Rates are reviewed quarterly by the LTA and reduced during the June and December school holidays.
Under updated guidelines, a missed ERP charge (e.g., card error, insufficient balance) won't instantly cost you a fortune:
- 5-Day Grace Period: Settle the missed charge within 5 days of receiving notification = S$0 Admin Fee.
- Late Payment (After 5 Days): Original ERP charge + S$10 Administrative Fee.
- Unpaid Notice (After 2 Weeks): Issued a S$70 fine per missed gantry pass.
- No OBU / IU Device Penalty: Driving without a proper On-Board Unit (OBU) or In-vehicle Unit (IU) incurs a S$70 fine and potential demerit points.

Pro Tip: Link your vehicle to backend auto-pay services (e.g. NETS App / SimplyGo) to automate payment and never worry about missed charges or fines again!
